Careport Group began as a management services business, providing full operational oversight of care homes on behalf of owners, lenders and insolvency practitioners. At its peak, the group held more than 60 care homes via management contracts simultaneously - running homes for the likes of Begbies Traynor, Deloitte, PwC, Grant Thornton, FRP Advisory, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and others. That work, often in the most challenging of circumstances, built a depth of operational expertise that few in the sector can match.
Over time, Careport Group made a deliberate transition from managing care homes for others to operating its own. That shift gave rise to two dedicated brands: Mariposa Care, delivering nursing, residential and memory care for older people, and Papillon Care, providing specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. Today, these brands are the heart of the business - with homes across the North East of England and beyond.
Careport Group continues to grow through acquisitions, new developments and strategic investment in the care sector. We bring not only capital but decades of hands-on operational experience to every opportunity - whether acquiring an established home, developing a purpose-built facility or backing a care business with the potential to thrive.
